2023.05.10 ~ 2023.07.01

  • Shun Nakao's artworks capture the discomfort and environment he feels while living under the influence of manga culture and anime.

His series "Back Off" critiques the use of phrases that hold others back, suggesting that once someone has decided to move forward, others should not try to interfere. Shun also addresses the impact of social media, reminding us to be more aware of the comments we make and the ideas we choose to embrace. Overall, Shun's works invite us to think more deeply about individual agency, social influence, and the impact of technology on our lives.

Shun Nakao is an artist whose works examine the influence of manga culture and anime on his life and surroundings. Through his art, Shun raises important questions about the ways in which we communicate with one another, especially when it comes to offering advice or suggestions to those around us.

One of Shun's most notable works is a series titled "Back Off," which features three pieces entitled "Back Off Danger," "Back Off Safety First," and "Back Off Stop." These works are intended to critique the way in which people might use phrases like these to discourage others from taking risks or making progress in their lives. Shun's perspective suggests that once a person has made a decision to move forward, others should not try to interfere with their path.

Another important theme in Shun's work is the impact of social media on our lives. While platforms like Twitter and Instagram offer us new ways to express ourselves and share our thoughts, they also create a space for negative comments and unhelpful recommendations. Shun's work reminds us to be mindful of the comments we make and the ideas we embrace, so that we can improve ourselves and our interactions with others.

Overall, Shun Nakao's work is thought-provoking and inspiring. Through his art, he encourages us to think critically about the ways in which we communicate with one another, and to strive for greater understanding and compassion in our interactions.

  • MOYA's exhibited artworks are centered around creatures from Japanese legends and myths, including the “Longmen (The Dragon Gate)” which represents the idea of achieving success through hard work, the “Komainu” guardian dogs of Shinto shrines, the guiding god “Yatagarasu”, and various other creatures such as demons. MOYA combines the main theme with stories and associated elements in a collage-like manner to create his paintings. One of MOYA's unique techniques is his ability to express the relationship between the physical presence and portraits by creating three-dimensional artworks. MOYA's artwork not only reflects his passion for street art and Japanese culture, but it also showcases his creativity and ability to blend different styles and techniques to create stunning pieces.

  • ERTHH or Thanatorn Pattarathada is well known as a young and energetic artist with concepts and skills worth noting. He wants to create works of art to bring happiness and reach out to people of all ages in the form of his unique pop surrealism paintings.

ERTHH has been interested in art since he was an elementary school student. Inspired by his favorite cartoon world, he began to paint and sharpen skills on his own in all those years during high school. His leisure activity was to explore art exhibitions in various places that interested him and to study the works of master artists; in particular, Prateep Kochabua, a leading painter who personifies surrealism paintings. ERTHH also strove to be an artist and therefore chose to study in the Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University. While he was a student, he experimented with the creation of various techniques himself. He tried his utmost to gain knowledge of various types of arts from books, online media, and works by world-class artists such as Ron English and Mark Ryden as well as seize the opportunity to see art exhibitions as much as possible. He wanted to use the knowledge acquired to develop his own artistic skills all the time until they could crystallize his thoughts and be transformed into pop paintings beyond imagination (Pop Surrealism).
